Christmas at Bute Park is entering an exciting new chapter for 2026, with a host of brand-new installations set to transform Cardiff’s much-loved festive trail.
Long ago, when winter nights were darkest and the world felt cold and quiet, a magical force kept the warmth of Christmas alive. It was called The Christmas Spirit.
But The Christmas Spirit was never kept in a box, it lived in something far more powerful. It lived in people.
Each act of kindness, each moment of fun, each smile, makes The Christmas Spirit glow brighter. And every winter, when the nights grow long again, The Christmas Spirit needs help to shine again….. that is where you come in.
When people come together, The Christmas Spirit grows stronger.
Every smile, every laugh, every memory created and shared adds to The Christmas Spirit.
You carry The Christmas Spirit forward into your homes, your families and the world beyond this winter night.
Because of you, The Christmas Spirit will live on. Not in decorations, not in presents, but in the kindness we share.
Tonight we need your help to keep The Christmas Spirit alive. You will wander through the four pillars of The Christmas Spirit; Joy, Wonder, Hope and Magic. Should you succeed in re-igniting The Christmas Spirit, a single magical Christmas wish shall be granted to you and you will be able to continue onto the Finale of Fun in the Disco of Christmas Dreams!
